Actually I wonder who the real idiot is. As a fellow fisho, I know having buzzing drones around can be darn irritating! Especially if its a bad day on the docks and having no hook ups....
Which looks like the case cos the angler doesn't seem to have any catch so far.
Somehow though, the video ends without showing how the drone was retrieved. Was the line cut? Did the angler cut his own line? The shot of the line isn't that clear hence we won't know if the angler is using braided line or monofilament line. Fishing in such a location, he could be using a minimum of 20 lb line. If the angler, most likely actually, cut his own line so that the drone can escape, he would have wasted quite a bit of his line. And if it was braided 20lb line, it isn't cheap!
The drone must have really pissed this angler off!
Also don't forget, in order to cast far and high, some weight is needed. Again this is not clear but assuming that he has reeled in his line and then cast off, he should be using the same lure as we don't see him switching out a lure. That means that in addition to the line, the angler also lost his lure!
Line cost + lure cost = $$ lost!
I really hope it was worth it...
In fact I suggest this angler go find some friends with drones and do this instead!
